Eric Granado highly motivated for start of the 2021 season

The Brazilian rider faces the first round of the FIM MotoE World Cup 2021 this weekend at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto, coinciding with the Spanish Grand Prix.

The Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto will be the venue for the first round of the FIM MotoE World Cup 2021 this weekend, coinciding with the Spanish Grand Prix. ONE Energy Racing and Eric Granado face the start of the new season with great motivation, after topping the timesheets at the two preseason tests held this year at the same circuit.

This will be the third season for both the team and Granado in the electric motorcycle racing series, and their first together. The Brazilian rider feels ready for the challenge and hopes to be able to bring great results to the structure.

His preseason results have singled him out as one of the riders to beat, having set the best time in the two official tests carried out at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto. In addition, the ONE Energy Racing rider has enjoyed great performances in the past at the track, including claiming E-Pole and winning the Spanish round race last year. This year, Granado will seek to repeat the achievement in what will be his first race with the team.

The 8-lap Spanish Grand Prix for the FIM MotoE World Cup takes place on Sunday, May 2nd at 10:05 AM local time.

“After the preseason we had, our target has to be fighting for wins. However, the season is very long, so you have to take things calmly and think about achieving the maximum number of points possible. I think we have a chance to fight at the front, but for now we have to focus on the first race, which is our main objective. I will do my best to win the race, and if we can’t win then we will look to achieve a good result for the championship and think about the next race. This is the mentality I want to have this year. The memories I have of Jerez are very good: Last year I won the first race of the season, so I hope to leave there on Sunday with the same result and satisfied with the work that we have done. I’m really excited to officially start this 2021 season with ONE Energy Racing.”
