The WithU Motorsport rider takes on the last two races of the 2020 MotoE World Cup at the French GP this weekend.
Jakub Kornfeil and WithU Motorsport head to France this weekend, where the last round of the 2020 MotoE World Cup will be held. The legendary Le Mans track will host two races for the electric competition – the sixth and seventh of the season. The Czech feels he has shown progressive improvement this year, which he wants to cap-off with a good result at the French GP.
Kornfeil was back amongst the points at Misano, finishing 12th and 13th in races at the Emilia Romagna GP. The event also allowed the Czech to gain valuable experience on his electric motorcycle and improve his race day performance. At Le Mans he finished in the Top 10 on 6 occasions during his time in Moto3. Kornfeil is extra-motivated for this final round and will do his best to show what he has learned throughout the season.
Round 5 of the MotoE World Cup will begin on Friday with two Free Practice sessions, followed by E-Pole on Saturday morning. That same day Race 1 will take place, starting at 4:15pm, while Race 2 will be held on Sunday at 3:40pm. Both contests will be run over a total of 7 laps.
#84 Jakub Kornfeil
“After three consecutive races at Misano, this break was a necessary one. During this week off I have been jetsurfing, and even competed in a race – which I won. In a way, you could say that I haven’t stopped competing during this brief time off, which has helped me to keep my motivation high. Le Mans is a track that I like and that suits my riding style well, as I do some very hard braking. I also have good memories of the track. However, it looks like it’s going to rain this weekend, so we will have to see how well we adapt to riding in the wet with the MotoE bike. The aim for both races this weekend is to try to beat our best result to date, which is 12th. I also want to reduce the gap between us and the front group. We will work hard to make this possible and try to make it a great weekend.”
