The WithU Motorsport rider improves his best time from Friday and qualifies 17th for Round 3 of the MotoE World Cup.
The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli hosted qualifying for the third round of the MotoE World Cup on Saturday afternoon. Jakub Kornfeil continued to work on his adaptation to the electric motorcycle competition and today took a significant step forward, lowering his best lap time from Friday in the process. The WithU Motorsport rider finished the E-Pole session in 17th position and will start from the sixth row of the grid tomorrow.
Kornfeil completed a total of 10 laps in the final Free Practice session of the weekend, using them to get further acquainted with his MotoE bike and work on his race pace for tomorrow. In the session the Czech rider set a best time of 1:45.428, more than half a second quicker than his marker from Friday and placing him 18th.
In the afternoon, Kornfeil was the first out in E-Pole, stopping the clock at 1:45.753. He feels confident ahead of what will be his third race in the MotoE series, and will take off from the sixth row of the grid, in 17th position.
The 7-lap MotoE race will take place tomorrow at 10:05 am local time.

“I am happy, as in FP3 we again took a big step forward. However, in E-Pole I still find it difficult to set a fast time on a single hot lap. This time I changed strategy a bit in the qualifying session and tried to go a little faster on the out lap. The positive I can draw is that we completed our fastest third sector of the weekend so far. We have to learn and apply all this knowledge at the coming rounds. Above all, we have to make the most of our time on track.
Our goal for tomorrow is to finish in the points, and for this to happen it will be very important that we have a good first lap. We have to push hard from the start; if we do, I know that I will be able to stay in the fight.”
