Jakub Kornfeil aims to continue growing at Misano

The WithU Motorsport rider feels ready for three consecutive MotoE World Cup races at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, starting with Round 3 this weekend.

After a seven-week break, Jakub Kornfeil and WithU Motorsport return to action for the third and fourth rounds of the MotoE World Cup. The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli will host races on two consecutive weekends, placing high demands on the Czech rider physically and mentally. Kornfeil will look to continue taking progressive steps forward in the category, gaining kilometres and experience on-board the Energica bike.

At the last round, held at Jerez, Kornfeil showed a positive adaptation to MotoE, finishing inside the points with a 12th place. The WithU Motorsport rider has experience at Misano, where he made his World Championship debut in 2009 in the 125cc class and achieved his best results in 2016 and 2018 with a 5th position in Moto3. Now he aims to continue to evolve and improve his lap times, in order to score points in the third race of the season.

Round 3 of the MotoE World Cup will kick off with two Free Practice sessions on Friday, followed by FP3 and E-Pole on Saturday. The 7-lap race will be held on Sunday at 10:05am local time.

#84 Jakub Kornfeil
“It’s been a long time since the last race, but I feel very well prepared physically. I am happy, since in the past few weeks I have been able to train on big and small motorcycles. That has been good preparation for the work we have to do in the coming days.
My goal for Misano is clear: to get as many points as possible and try to follow the riders at the front. Misano is a track that I like and that could favour my riding style. Even though I haven’t ridden many kilometres with the MotoE, I’m a strong braker and that could make our work easier. Also, in the past I have achieved good results there. I face these two rounds with optimism and, despite the fact that we had some problems in Jerez, I know that lap by lap we will improve.”
