The WithU Motorsport rider matches his best MotoE World Cup result by finishing 12th at Misano.
On Saturday, the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli hosted the first race of the two scheduled for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weekend. Jakub Kornfeil once again had a solid performance and finished the fourth race of the 2020 season in 12th place. The Czech rider equalled his best result in the MotoE World Cup to date – from the Andalucia GP – and placed in the points.
The Czech took off from the sixth row, gaining 3 places and reaching 15th position at the end of the first lap. Kornfeil had a tough race in which there were several incidents, forcing him to attempt to remain calm and focused. The WithU Motorsport rider completed the 7-lap race in 12th.
The Race 2 of the Round 4 takes place tomorrow at 10:05 am local time. Kornfeil will start from the fourth row of the grid, in 12th position.

“I am very happy to have claimed points at this first race. However, I had several problems today, especially with the rear, which affected things. That’s why I am pleased that tomorrow we have a second chance. In addition, tomorrow we will be ahead of many of the leading riders in the class, so I will try to stick with them on the opening laps. I will try to ensure that at the end the distance between the winner and I does not exceed 10 seconds. Today’s race was also difficult due to the large number of crashes that occurred, due to the lack of grip. In my case, at the beginning of the race I felt good, but as the laps went by the problems grew. In conclusion, I feel good about today’s race but we have to keep fighting to be at the front.”
