The British rider faces Round 2 of the MotoE World Cup motivated after the summer break, and with the aim of achieving his first win of the season.
ONE Energy Racing return to action this weekend in Austria, five weeks on from the first race in MotoE World Cup history at Sachsenring. The series hits the Red Bull Ring for its second round, with Bradley Smith determined to fight for the win on race day. The Briton placed second in the season opener in Germany.
Smith has ridden three times at the Austrian track in the MotoGP class. The British rider achieved his best result at the track in 2017, where he finished the race in ninth place. In the new MotoE competition, the experienced campaigner will attempt to gain valuable points for the title chase. The ONE Energy Racing rider is second in the overall standings with 20 points, 5 behind the leader.
The MotoE World Cup has added a Free Practice 3 session to its schedule for Saturday morning, to help riders and teams prepare for the afternoon E-Pole session. The race will take place on Sunday at 10:00am local time.

“I’m ready for Round 2. I have analysed what happened at Sachsenring as much as I can, looking at Free Practice, qualifying and the race. I think we gave everything we had in Germany, so we are satisfied with the second place we achieved. Looking ahead to Austria, the E-Pole session is the main aspect where we have to improve, but the introduction of an FP3 session will help us get better prepared for qualifying. The Red Bull Ring is a track with very long straights, so we will have to study what our strengths might be with the MotoE bike. The goal for this weekend is to continue from where we left off. We must prevent our rivals from breaking away in the standings, since there are not too many races in the MotoE World Cup. We will try to emerge from Round 2 as the series leaders.”
